NEET-UG 2024 Results Announced by NTA Following Supreme Court Directive
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the city and centre-wise results for the NEET-UG 2024, following a Supreme Court order aimed at ensuring transparency in the examination process. While the marks have been disclosed, student anonymity has been maintained. The results are now accessible on the NTA NEET website.
Supreme Court Order Ensures Transparency
A Supreme Court bench, led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud, mandated the NTA to publish the results before 12 noon on July 20. This decision came after a petitioner urged the court to direct the NTA to release the results in a manner that promotes transparency. The court emphasized the need for openness, particularly in light of concerns regarding paper leaks and malpractice.
Accessing the Results
Students can check their results on the official NTA NEET website at https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET and https://neet.ntaonline.in . The Supreme Court’s directive ensures that the marks are published without revealing the identities of the students, thereby safeguarding their privacy.
Court's Directive and Continuing Hearings
The Supreme Court's directive stated: "The petitioners have submitted that it would be appropriate if the results of the NEET-UG 2024 exam are published on the website to bring about some transparency regarding the centre-wise marks obtained by candidates. We direct the NTA to publish the marks obtained by students in the NEET-UG 2024 exam while ensuring that the identity of the students is masked. The results should be declared in relation to each centre and city separately."
The court will continue to hear pleas concerning alleged paper leaks and malpractice in the NEET-UG 2024 exams on July 22.
